This Policy

Peddler’s Cottage Interiors (hereinafter, also referred to as, the “Company”, “Peddler’s Cottage”, “we”, “our” or “us”) recognizes the importance of maintaining and protecting the privacy and security of your personally-identifying information. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains the types of customer personally-identifying information we collect when you visit our website, www.PeddlersCottage.com (the “Site”), make a purchase through the Site or otherwise provide us with personally-identifying information. The Policy also explains how your personally-identifying information is used and the steps taken to ensure your information is handled properly.

We will only collect, use and disclose personally-identifying information in accordance with this Policy. This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the Terms of Use Agreement (the “Terms of Use”), which outline the terms and conditions you agree to when accessing and using the Site. The Terms of Use appear on the Site here

By accessing and using the Site, or by providing us with any of your personally-identifying information, you agree and consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personally-identifying information as outlined in this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms and conditions of this Policy, please do not use the Site or submit any personally-identifying information to the Company.

Gathering of Non-Personally-Identifying Information

Like most website operators, the Company collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as browser type, time zone setting, operating system and platform, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. The Company’s purpose in collecting non-personally-identifying information is to better understand how the Company’s visitors use our Site.

From time to time, the Company may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate (for example, by publishing a report on trends in the usage of our Site). The Company will not attempt to associate any anonymous technical information collected with any personally-identifiable information unless we have your express consent to do so, we have detected or reasonably suspect an attempt to damage or breach the security of the Site, or we are required to do so by law.

The Company also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. The Company does not use such information to identify our visitors and does not disclose such information, other than under the same circumstances that we use and disclose personally-identifying information, as described below.

Gathering of Personally-Identifying Information

Certain visitors to the Company’s Site choose to interact with the Company in ways that require the Company to gather personally-identifying information. Personally-identifying information is information that refers to an individual specifically and is recorded in any form (for example, name, mailing address, phone number and email address).

The amount and type of information that the Company gathers depends on the nature of the interaction, as further described below:

  1.    Account Registration

When you register for an account (an “Account”) through the Site, the Company requires that you provide certain personally-identifying information, including, in most cases, your first name, your last name, physical address, phone number, a unique email address and a password.

  1.    Purchasing Products and Services

To enable the purchase of products and services through the Site, we also collect and store billing and payment information (credit card and debit card information), as well as your address, telephone number and any other information required to process your purchases.

We use a third party payment processing service (Shopify Payments, powered by Stripe) to process our credit and debit payments (whereas from time to time, may also include applicable refunds). In addition, we keep a record of your past purchases and may also ask you for information regarding your personal preferences and demographics to better meet your needs.

Shopify’s use of your personally-identifying information is governed by its respective privacy policy which may or may not contain privacy protections as protective as this Policy. You can view Shopify’s privacy policy here: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy.

  1.    Surveys, Contests and Special Offers

If you are a registered user of a Peddler’s Cottage Site and have supplied your email address, the Company may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with the Company and our products. We primarily use our various product profiles to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum.

If at any time, you prefer not to receive email communications, please proceed by:

  • clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email;
  • logging into your Account and changing your mailing preferences; or
  • contacting us at the contact information provided below.
