Return/Claim Policy

This Return/Claim Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the Terms of Use Agreement (the “Terms of Use”), which outline the terms and conditions you agree to when accessing and using the website (the “Site”). The Terms of Use appear on the Site here.

Returns

Peddler’s Cottage Interiors (hereinafter, also referred to as, the “Company”, “Peddler’s Cottage”, “we”, “our” or “us”), will accept returns on all regular priced online purchases within 30 calendar days from the date of shipment, provided the items are unused, unopened, in new original condition and in their original packaging (including all accessories and manuals). All returned items must be accompanied by the electronic invoice/receipt and must be deemed by the Company to be undamaged before they will be accepted for a refund. Refunds are not applicable on custom orders, seasonal items, sale and discounted items and damaged items due to misuse and/or mishandling.

Upon our inspection, if the returned items are accepted by the Company, the refund amount will be applied to the credit card or debit card which you used to pay for the products, less a 10% restocking fee. Freight charges and shipping and handling fees are non-refundable. All freight charges and shipping and handling fees incurred by the customer for returns are also non-refundable. In the event we are required to pay for any freight charges and/or shipping and handling fees in order to accept a return, such amount will be deducted from the total amount being refunded to the customer.

If you want to return products, you must contact Peddler’s Cottage by calling our Customer Service Department at (250) 763-9999 or by emailing Sales@PeddlersCottage.com to obtain an authorization code and detailed return instructions. Your electronic invoice/receipt is required for returns. As soon as possible, after you contact us, and following receipt and acceptance of the returned items (and in any event, within 15 calendar days from the date we accept the return), we will issue you the refund amount (less the 10% restocking fee).

We highly recommend that you insure all return shipments and use a trackable shipping method as refunds will not be issued for items damaged or lost during the return process. Because of the fragile nature of many of the Company’s items, extra care should be taken to ensure that a package arrives at our processing center in the same condition as you received it. Our Customer Service team can provide detailed packing advice.

The Company will also exchange items in the same manner in which we accept returns, as outlined above, with the exception that all freight charges and shipping and handling fees associated with shipping the replacement items, for the exchanged items, will be the responsibility of the customer.

Claims (Damaged, Defective and Faulty Items)

The Company thoroughly inspects each item prior to packaging and all products are shipped to you in appropriate packaging to help ensure that you receive your purchase in excellent condition. Upon receipt, please inspect your package(s) closely.

Should you observe significant damage to the outer packaging, reject the shipment and have the carrier return it. If there is minor damage to the packaging, indicate as such when you sign for the shipment.

If you receive a damaged product, or in the unlikely event that you find the product to be damaged upon opening it, you must notify Peddler’s Cottage’s Customer Service Department at (250) 763-9999 or by emailing Sales@PeddlersCottage.com within 5 calendar days of receipt of order. The products must be returned along with the electronic invoice/receipt and must be accepted by the Company before a refund or replacement is issued. Upon receipt of the product, and upon our inspection and approval of such damaged product, we will contact you within 2 business days by telephone or email for further instructions as to whether you prefer to have the purchase price credited to the credit card or debit card which you used to pay for the product, or to receive a replacement item.

As per defective or faulty items, all products sold by the Company come with standard manufacturer warranties, if and as provided by the manufacturer, and the Company will replace defective and faulty products in the same manner as we accept damaged products, as outlined above, with the exception of any product standard manufacturer warranty periods.

Freight charges and shipping and handling fees are non-refundable. All freight charges and shipping and handling fees incurred by the customer for the return of damaged, defective or faulty products are also non-refundable, however, in this case, the Company waives the 10% restocking fee. In the event you request a replacement item, all reasonable freight charges and shipping and handling fees associated with shipping the replacement item will be paid for by the Company.
